  • The fourth amendment is "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall no be violated, and no warrents, shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation and particularly describing the place to be searched, and person or things to be seized" which basically means that someone can not go through someone else's property without a warrent.

  • This amendment was proposed September 25, 1791 and ratified on December 15, 1791.

  • This amendment was ratified and created to protect unreasonable search and seizures.

  • The advantages of the fourth amendment is that citizens have privacy and protection of their property.

  • The disadvantages of the 4th amendment is there are a number of exceptions there are to it. Because if someone read the fourth amendment, they could easily believe that they are protected from all search and seizures, like in there car when they cross the border.
